All specimens must be delivered to the Receiving Department, located at the back of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Basic Science Building.

From Interstate 74:

• Take the Lincoln Avenue exit and head south for approximately 3 miles,
• Turn right on St. Mary’s Road, then take the first left on to S. Goodwin Ave.

From Interstate 57:

• Take the Curtis Road exit and head east for approximately 2.8 miles,
• Turn north on Route 45 (Dunlap Avenue) for 1 mile,
• Turn east on Windsor Road, continue for 2.2 miles,
• Turn north on Lincoln Avenue, continue for about half a mile,
• Turn left on St. Mary’s Road, then take the first left on to S. Goodwin Ave.

Drop-Off Instructions:

The Receiving department entrance is located behind the building on S. Goodwin Avenue at the first loading dock area on the left, through the large orange door. You may park in front of this door for short-term drop-offs. If you require assistance with specimen drop-off, please call the Receiving Department at 217-244-7630 approximately 15 minutes before arrival so staff can be ready to assist with unloading.

After Hours Drop-Off Instructions:

Clients may drop off small specimens (e.g., slides, tubes, or small animals under 30 lbs) after regular business hours using our designated cooler.

To access the cooler:

• Follow the directions above to our Receiving entrance.
• The after-hours cooler is located outside the building, in the white door to the left of the large orange Receiving door.
• Open the small white cooler door and place your samples inside on the table.

Important Reminders:

• Ensure all specimens are clearly labeled.
• A completed submission form must be securely attached to your samples.
• The cooler is checked first thing in the morning on regular business days.
